Build your future with us Our Commercial Lines department is seeking experienced underwriters to manage a book of renewal business in our Middle Markets segment. This position is based at our Headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio. Travel up to 10% expected. The pay range for this position is $80,000 - $105,000 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance. Be ready to: manage a defined book of commercial business, serving multiple agencies in a specific geographic area actively engage with agency and field personnel to ensure collaborative outcomes demonstrate an advanced understanding of underwriting concepts and appetite across multiple lines of business properly use company and industry resources to underwrite risks on an account level appropriately price renewal accounts and anniversary reviews with consideration given to segmentation, net rate and exposure increase targets consider risk characteristics, agency performance, market conditions and department initiatives along with guidance from others to support decisions follow appropriate line of authority with portfolio underwriter or management involvement and adequately prepare for account summary discussions meet department service standards for new business and renewal issuance; respond to inquiries in a timely manner effectively research and work to solve problems for internal and external customers balance performance goals with profit and growth objectives; review and analyze data to drive value added decisions regarding price, terms, and conditions build and maintain agency relationships, choosing the appropriate method of communication and negotiating with a win-win strategy travel to visit agencies to further strengthen relationships and communicate company vision build and leverage relationships with Headquarters and field associates to add value to the agency experience and to support company goals seek opportunities to add to your underwriting knowledge by attending all department training classes and reading all written communication Qualifications - External Be equipped with: strong communication skills with the initiative to help others ability to build relationships and listen effectively business-driven mindset and interest in seeing your work contribute to our company’s success strong decision-making, analytical and evaluative skills focus on details organization and time management skills to maximize progress ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Bring education and experience from: 5+ years of multi-line underwriting experience required CPCU, AINS or other insurance-related designations preferred Enhance your talents Providing outstanding service and developing strong relationships with our independent agents are hallmarks of our company.
